I'm sure you've all heard the shrill bleatings of the corporate press in regards to Venezuela's refusal to renew the broadcast license for the dishonest, coup-cheerleading hacks at RCTV. To make a long story short, don't be fooled. Check out Coup Co-Conspirators as Free-Speech Martyrs from media watchdog FAIR for the full story. Even more articles on this matter can be found at Latin America News Review.
I would post a photo relating to these events, but you can all probably imagine what a few hundred college-aged rich kids holding up signs in Caracas might look like. At least before they call their drivers to come pick them up and take them back to Mommy and Daddy's estate.

i'm right with ya. it's so obvious that the MSM paints a one sided picture of mr. chavez. i don't think it's really worked in the public eye (to a large extent), though. do you?
i've started looking for citgos whenever i need gas.
I think it is having an effect to some extent. More than a few times I've heard reasonable people (who are generally progressive) repeating corporate media talking points regarding Chavez and Venezuela.
BTW, have you noticed some Citgos around town are now BPs? I don't know what that is about...
i haven't noticed that. sucks.
i really wouldn't be surprised if i saw on the news that chavez had been assassinated. i know the U.S. is working on it.
if people would research him, i think they'd find he's not the devil he's portrayed as.
Well, our assassins seem to be fairly incompetent (which is a good thing) considering how many times they've tried and failed to kill Fidel...
