No Shit

One of my biggest peeves is the misuse of the term "democracy."  As such, I'm not sure what pisses me off most about this article from the New York Times, the insinuation that everything about American "democracy" and capitalism is great and wonderful, the assertion that dissent in Venezuela is "silenced" (total bullshit), or the fact that the entire article revolves around a "no shit" conclusion that democracy and capitalism are not inextricably linked.  In fact, I would say (though the article obviously won't go there) that the two are most often diametrically opposed.  More on this later...
