Taxpayer largesse

Someone tell me, does a government need to commit massive human rights abuses before the American taxpayer buys them billions and billions of dollars worth of guns and bombs, or is that just a coincidence??? Apparently the Bush administration is trying to give Egypt $13 billion in military aid and Israel another $30 billion (an increase of $6 billion over ten years), while selling the Saudi government and the Gulf States $20 billion in advanced weaponry.

"Why do they hate us?" Yeah, it's a mystery...
